EU TalentOn is a biennial initiative that challenges talented young researchers to develop solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues. It contributes directly to the actions outlined in the ERA Policy Agenda.
The contest brings science closer to citizens by inviting them to co-create solutions to major societal challenges. It offers a platform for sharing science, knowledge, art and skills, fostering new connections between science and society in innovative, open and engaging ways. EU TalentOn is supported by the Horizon Europe Work Programme, Widening participation and strengthening the European Research Area.
The next edition will take place on 7. to 11. September 2026 in Brest, France, as part of the European Commission’s new initiative Science Comes to Town.
This four-day event gathers early-career researchers for a programme co-created with academia, innovators and industry, aiming to bridge the gap between young talent, science and industry.
Participants, organised into small teams of four, will be equipped with the tools to create innovative and marketable solutions, and will take part in workshops, company visits, lectures, masterclasses, personal guidance sessions and cultural activities.
At the end of the event, each team will pitch their solution to a professional jury and the public. Winners will receive sponsored prizes from the EU, industry partners and mentors.
